Geldner Gems: “The Eyes Have It,” Ways to refresh your look with Botox and Juvederm

The first thing people tend to notice about you are your eyes.

There are ways to refresh your look and to open up, and accentuate the eyes. The first is to use a neurotoxin, such as Botox which can be used to open the eyes, reduce wrinkles, and rid the furrowed brow area of those pesky 11′s.

Additionally, Botox can be used to, ever so slightly, raise the outer end, or “tail” of the brow. This can be a real plus for those with sagging eyelids, not yet ready for an eyelid lift (blepharoplasty).

Treating the tail of the brow is a favorite technique of my female patients, hands down.

Your eyes can be highlighted in yet another way. Believe it or not, it’s accentuating your cheeks. A filler would be the product of choice for this area. There are several filler treatment options on the market today including Juvederm, Radiesse, Belotero, and Voluma.

As we age our face loses volume, which can result in a hollowing of the cheek area. This loss of volume can occur in the “apple” of the cheek, leaving it with a flattened appearance. Another area of loss is along the ascending cheekbone area known as the zygomatic arch, which runs up towards the ear.

When we were young, many of us had full round faces, including nice full cheeks. By adding filler in the flattened cheek mound, you can virtually watch your youth return, right before your eyes! Many times just a simple linear area of filler along the arch, and voila!  You’ve got cheekbones!

Add Latisse to grow longer, thicker, and darker lashes to complete your look!

As always, I specialize in a soft and natural correction. Filler is a science, but it is also an art form. One should look rested, and refreshed, never overdone. It’s you – only better!
